Sustain the Shore
Sustain the Shore is Pathfinders' long-term commitment to reviving Ghana's coastal ecosystems from Labadi Beach to vulnerable fishing communities.
Eco-Restore
Eco-Restore addresses damage from illegal mining through land and water restoration and community empowerment. In partnership with Tree Tag, we use geotagging and AI to monitor and sustain every tree planted, ensuring lasting impact.
Our Sustainability Commitments
Carbon Neutral by 2025
We've pledged to make our entire operation carbon neutral by 2025, including our offices, staff travel, and all guided tours.
Plastic-Free Travel
We've eliminated single-use plastics from all our tours by providing reusable bottles and jute/sackcloth tote bags to our travelers, and we actively encourage our partners to adopt similar sustainable practices.
Fair Tourism Practices
We ensure fair compensation and working conditions for all local staff and service providers in our destination communities.
Wildlife Protection
We follow strict guidelines to ensure our activities don't harm wildlife or their habitats, avoiding activities that exploit animals.

2025 UN Ocean Conference
The overarching theme of the Conference is “Accelerating action and mobilizing all actors to conserve and sustainably use the ocean”. The Conference aims to support further and urgent action to conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development and identify further ways and means to support the implementation of SDG 14.

COP15 will be held under the theme, “Protecting Wetlands for Our Common Future”, which emphasizes the important role wetlands play in sustaining ecological health, biodiversity, and climate resilience.

Sustain the Shore's Labadi Beach Clean Up
On October 26, 2024, we launched Sustain the Shore with our maiden cleanup activity at Labadi Beach to celebrate the International Day of Climate Action. This marked the beginning of a long-term effort to protect Ghana's coastlines through community action and sustainable tourism.
